Off-chain
On-chain
Setting you up for success with Kaddie.
What is a blockchain?
A blockchain is a database of the transaction history. This transaction history is stored inside a block, these blocks contain information regarding the previous block thus linking them together to create a chain of blocks, otherwise known as a Blockchain.
Blockchain is widely used due to two main reasons, blockchains are decentralized – which means there are no 3rd parties involved in approving your transactions on the chain, this also means blockchain is immutable (Tamper Proof) as they rely on all parties in the network agree on the blockchain (This is known as consensus).
Blockchain is highly secured due to its use of cryptographic keys and signatures – this prevents fraud such as other users pretending to be you as they would not be able to replicate your private keys.

What blockchain Kaddie supports?
Kaddie currently supports Polygon Blockchain. Polygon offers fast and cheap transactions with a low carbon footprint.
Polygon is a “layer two” or “sidechain” scaling solution that runs alongside the Ethereum blockchain — allowing for speedy transactions and low fees. MATIC is the network’s native cryptocurrency, which is used for fees, staking, and more. You can buy or sell MATIC via exchanges like Coinbase.
Create your wallet
Before you can create or buy NFTs you need to set up your wallet and get some MATIC (Polygon’s native currency).
Let’s first cover some important terms:
Wallet: Your wallet is your point of access to the expansive ecosystem of web3. It’s portable, it connects to your web browser, and it holds all of your NFTs and cryptocurrency. You’ll need to connect your wallet to Kaddie to list for sale or buy NFTs —although Kaddie won’t have access to your wallet, and we can’t control it.
Kaddie currently only supports MetaMask wallet.
MATIC: Polygon’s native cryptocurrency. It is an ERC-20 token, a token created on the Ethereum blockchain. This token is used to govern and secure the Polygon network and pay the network’s transaction fees.
Set up a MetaMask wallet
Your wallet is essential for managing your digital assets.
Getting started is easy:
- Download and install the MetaMask browser extension from the MetaMask website.
- Select “Create a Wallet.”
- Create a username and password.
- Record your uniquely assigned Secret Recovery Phrase. If you lose this series of words or forget what order they’re in, you will lose access to your wallet, and it will be unrecoverable. We recommend writing the phrase on a piece of paper and storing it in a memorable, safe, and secure spot.
- The next step will ask you to confirm the phrase by placing all of the words in the assigned order.
- MetaMask should now be set up and will appear in your browser extensions.
- If you have any trouble, visit MetaMask Support.
Add Polygon to your wallet
In order to mint, publish or buy NFTs with Kaddie, you’ll need to add Polygon to your Metamask wallet:
- Open and log in to your MetaMask wallet
- From the account options, which is a circle icon, go to “Settings.”
- Once you are in settings, select “Networks.”
- Press the “Add Network” button.
- You will be taken to a new screen. This is the most important step because this is where you will add the information to connect to the Polygon network. Input the following new information and press save:
Network Name: Polygon Mainnet
New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com/
Chain ID: 137
Currency Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/
Once you’ve added the information click on Save. You will be directly switched to Polygon’s Mainnet now in the network dropdown list. You can now close the dialog.
Step 1: Click on “Add Network”

Step 2: Fill out Polygon information

Buy MATIC in Metamask
When you mint, list for sale, or buy and NFT on Kaddie, you need to pay small transaction fees. Transaction fees, plus the cost of the NFT for the buyer, are paid using MATIC, that is Polygon’s native currency.
Transactions on Polygon are very cheap (generally <0.02 MATIC each), so 1–2 MATIC should be more than sufficient for most users (50–100 transactions). Find a MATIC –> USD converter here.
Buying MATIC directly inside MetaMask is the quickest way (instant transfer) to get your MATIC into the MetaMask wallet. The delivery time of both the Transak and MoonPay is fast.
Before starting, in case you’ve not added the Polygon Network to MetaMask, you need to add it to buy and store MATIC inside MetaMask.
You can buy MATIC in MetaMask in 2 ways:
Buy via Transak
Buy via MoonPay

Gas Fees
Gas is a unit of measurement that represents the computational effort required to complete a transaction on the network. Gas fees variate based on the network’s traffic. You can monitor gas prices on real time here.
Kaddie users need to pay small gas fees when:
- Connecting their Wallet for the first time (See “One-time Approval”)
- Minting/Publishing an NFT
- Listing an NFT for Sale
- Buying an NFT
Getting started with Kaddie

If you want to make a collection visible to another user, you’ll need to “tag” the particular user on your collection.
- Go to “Collections”
- Select a collection by clicking on the card
- Inside the collection, click on the 3 “dots” on the top right corner
- Click on “Edit Collection”
- Tag the user by typing the user name in the “Tag” fields

One-Time Approval
The first time you use your wallet within the Kaddie platform we will request you to give Kaddie permission to sell your NFTs on your behalf at a future time.
It’s an ‘ease of use’ feature that prevents users from being bugged by requests or for desired transactions to be denied because the correct permissions were not in place. This transaction will require the creator to pay a small gas (MATIC) amount.
Step 1: Select Account

Step 2: Connect

Step 3: Confirm

Mint/Publish NFTs
Minting an NFT or non-fungible token is publishing a unique digital asset on a blockchain so that it can be bought, sold, and traded. To Mint your assets, you’ll need to:
- Go to “Collections”
- Select a collection by clicking on the card
- Inside the collection, select the asset you want to Mint
- Make sure tag your asset has a price assigned (see “Editing an Asset”)

- Click on “Publish”
- When you click on “Publish” your Wallet will open and you need to confirm the transaction.
- Once the transaction is completed on the Blockchain, the newly minted NFT will appear in “My NFTs” tab. Transactions on the Blockchain can take from seconds to hours to complete.

List your NFTs for sale
Once your NFT is minted/published, you will be able to list it for sale. NFTs that have been successfully listed for sale will show a “buy” button on the buyer UI.
- Go to “NFTs”
- Select the NFT you want to list for sale by clicking on the card
- On the NFT page click on “List For Sale”
